Peoria Park District Keeps Trails Open Amid Pandemic

The Peoria Park District is keeping trails and some parks open, as long as hikers and bikers wash their hands before and after entering the park, practice social distancing, and do not display symptoms. The Peoria Park District states it is important to avoid crowds and prepare for a lack of public restrooms and water fountains. Playgrounds are closed but trails remain open, despite hundreds of part-time Peoria Park District workers being laid off due to revenue loss from the pandemic.

Even under the stay-at-home order, it is okay to go for a walk, as long as social distancing and good hygiene is being practiced.
