Bradley basketball is finally back!
The women’s basketball team won their first preseason game against the University of Missouri St. Louis 62-45.
The Braves exploded in the first half as they scored 34 points while only letting UMSL tack 17 points on the board. Leti Lerma would rack up 16 points with a 50% field goal percentage. At one point in the first half, Lerma would go on a personal 8-0 run as the braves ran up the score. The lady braves will play Kent State on Friday and butler on Sunday.
Across town, the men’s side won 83-66 against Wisconsin lacrosse for the Braves first game of the season. The speed of the game was fairly paced as the braves slowly expanded their lead over the eagles throughout the matchup. Bradley pumped out a balanced attack, as 6 players would score 9 or more points. Antoine Pittman led the braves scoring wise as he reaped 12 points, while being closely followed by Ronnie Suggs with 11. Bradley will play Illinois Springfield and Delaware on Friday and Sunday respectively as preseason continues.
The Bradley university hockey team had a few games last week.
Last Wednesday, the Bradley university hockey team squared off with rival Robert Morris university. In a game filled to the brim in scoring, the braves brought in a touchdown to win 7-0 against RMU. Following Wednesday’s game, the braves were back at it again as they faced off against Mckendree university, a d2 team, in a 2 game series. Unfortunately, the braves fell in both games as they played without three of their big scorers.
The Braves will play again in the RMU showcase this weekend at the Owens center on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Bradley women’s volleyball team played Wichita and Missouri state over the weekend.
On Friday, the braves were swept in three sets despite good efforts by Livaudais and Olson. Livaudais supplied 9 kills while Olson did the play-making with as she added 24 assists.
Saturday’s game had a similar result for the braves as they again in 3 sets to Missouri state. The braves will play in Iowa this weekend as they face off against drake and northern Iowa for more MVC action.
