The Bradley University Baseball team split its 2-game series against Butler University on the weekend of March 26 in Indianapolis. The Braves fell to Butler on Saturday 10-8 but rallied as they brought in 8 runs within the first 2 innings in Sunday’s game. Bradley First Baseman Paul Solka contributed 4 runs to the count. A standout performance by freshman Center Fielder Andy Shadid, who extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a 2-run double in the 1st and an RBI double in the 6th. Bradley would tally 1 more to beat Butler 9-5. Freshman right hand Pitcher Ben Cilano recorded his first career win with 3.2 innings of work as a relief for starter Drew Peters. March 30’s game in St. Louis was rescheduled due to poor weather conditions. The Braves opened their home schedule on Friday, April 1 at 6 pm at Dozer Park against MacMurray.
