Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis led off the daily COVID-19 press conference with a reminder to continue social distancing measures in the city to keep the virus at bay saying, “Please don’t blow this.” Monica Hendrickson, head of the Peoria health department, said that cases in the Tri-County area rose by four, with the Peoria county reporting 44 confirmed cases. Hendrickson states, “The cases we report are confirmed cases. For every positive case, we have confirmed, we then have two to three close contacts that are presumed (positive for COVID),” she said, adding then there are people who are still being investigated as a result of contact tracing. “The numbers that we report are just a small percentage of our population.”
