On the Friday before Spring Break, U.S. Representatives Cheri Bustos and Tammy Duckworth came to Bradley to speak about state funding for college students. The Congresswomen focused specifically on the Monetary Award Program, also known as MAP grants.
Students and members of the community came to the Wyckoff Room in the library to hear them voice their support for MAP grants. Both Bustos and Duckworth strongly believe the state of Illinois should allocate funding that would allow students to attend college. Bustos further explained why MAP grants are so important to her. Currently, the state still has not passed a budget. It is uncertain how much funding the program will receive in the future.
