Illinois Residents Vote in 2016 Presidential Primary

On Wednesday, March 15, Illinois residents voted in the Democratic and Republican Primary elections. This was to determine which nominee would win delegates for the upcoming conventions.

In Washington, Illinois, the American Legion was the voting location for precincts 19 and 21. The polls were open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The electoral judges were there to help along the way, making sure first-time voters would know what to do when casting their ballots. It was an exciting time as many came to exercise their right to choose their next Presidential candidate. (See video for more.)

Donald Trump would go on to win the state of Illinois for the Republican nomination, and Hillary Clinton would win for the Democrats.
