Peoria County has uncovered an additional ten new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since Tuesday, leading the tri-county area with 79 confirmed cases. Woodford County has reported one new case bringing its total to 12 along with Tazewell County reporting another case bringing its total to 38 cases. The tri-county area now has a total of 129 reports of the coronavirus, health officials say. Area hospitals have reported that 11 ICU beds are in use by those who have tested positive, along with nine ICU beds for those currently under investigation. Hospitals have also reported that 34 non-ICU beds are also in use for those tested positive and undergoing treatment for COVID-19. In Peoria County five cases are now in recovery as of April 28th. There have now been 79 confirmed cases with 38 recovered, 23 in home isolation, 16 hospitalized, and two deaths according to the Peoria City / Council Health Department.
