On Tuesday, despite the ongoing lockdown orders, Illinois reported the highest death toll in a single day since the pandemic began. Seventy-three deaths were reported in a twenty-four hour time period, Governor Pritzker announced on Tuesday. This brings the Illinois coronavirus death toll to 464, with Cook County experiencing the majority of cases and deaths. Pritzker said he does not know how much longer this is going to last, but the state needs time, and bending the curve will give time. Because of this, it is important to limit the spread, stay home, and adhere to social distancing and lockdown laws.
