The Killing Fields

Next Monday night there will be a free screening of the movie “The Killing Fields” in the Marty theater at 7:30 p.m. “The Killing Fields” is based on the true story of Sydney Schanberg’s documentation of the Vietnam war in Cambodia.

Schanberg is an American journalist that wrote a story for the New York Times about the killing fields in Cambodia, a number of sites in Cambodia where more than a million people were killed and buried by a Cambodian communist regime. The story is one of few films that does not fall to the Hollywood dramatization that many other “based on true story” films do. There will be an open discussion following the screening.
