It was a hot day out at Laura Bradley Park last weekend. The Lady Braves drew a great crowd, and the heat affected all in attendance. The Salukis grabbed an early lead with 3 runs in the 1st inning. The Braves answered with a run in the 2nd and 2 more in the 4th when Bradley freshman Katie Habryle hit a 2-run-single to left field. Despite keeping a tight defense, the Salukis would add 3 more runs. Bradley had a couple opportunities to cut the lead but left players on in the scoring position. The play of the day was Bradley sophomore Erika Hansen from Fillmore, California, with a dive catch between center and right field. Hansen made the last-minute catch just before the ball hit the ground, a boundless catch she might be feeling this week. Southern Illinois topped Bradley 6-3.
