There has never been a better time to visit the Peoria Park Zoo. Not only do they have brand new lion cubs, but right next door, they have new red river hog piglets. Five piglets were born on Sunday, April 17. This is the fourth time the zoo has seen a new litter of piglets. As a part of the Africa exhibit, they share their exhibit with the colobus monkeys. For now, the piglets remain indoors, where visitors can see them through glass walls. The piglets continue to be very active, though they still try to catch the occasional nap. Over the course of the last few days, they have become the new favorite attraction in the zoo, bringing in large crowds.
