The week of February 22 was National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The week hopes to shine a spotlight on eating disorders and to improve one’s understanding of the causes, dangers, and treatments.
More than 20 million people in the U.S. suffer from eating disorders. About one in five college women suffer, with many going undiagnosed and untreated. Only about 35% of sufferers get treatment for their illnesses. Counseling services are available to help combat these numbers.
