{"id":3332,"date":"2022-05-04T11:53:16","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T16:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/com.bradley.edu\/newslab\/?p=3332"},"modified":"2022-05-04T11:53:16","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T16:53:16","slug":"plots-revealed-showcases-nphc-and-mgos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/com.bradley.edu\/newslab\/2022\/05\/04\/plots-revealed-showcases-nphc-and-mgos\/","title":{"rendered":"Plots Revealed &#8211; Showcases NPHC and MGOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plots Revealed &#8211; Showcases NPHC and MGOs<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The National Panhellenic Council and the Multicultural Greek Organizations at Bradley University had their plots revealed at Alumni Quad Saturday afternoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bradley University hosted the plot reveal in what was a historic moment for the campus and the organizations represented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">President Standifird talked about the first time the idea of the plots was introduced to him by the NPHCs and MGOs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen this idea first came forward I was looking forward to this day specifically for so long and I am so so glad that this actually happened. The National Panhellenic Council and the Multicultural Greek Organizations have played a vital role at Bradley University,\u201d he said in his speech.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">President Standifird gives a welcome speech to the audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alongside President Standifird, alumni and active members of the organizations represented were asked to speak during the ceremony. Charles Myers, Bradley alumni and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. spoke on what it felt to have the plots revealed, something he alongside others fought for the previous year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Charles Myers, alumnus and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. at Bradley University.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen people visit these plots, it will serve as a reminder of a time when we worked together. And when we work together, we will always run the yard,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lynnae Williams, Bradley senior, president of the NPHC council and member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. talks about her perspective on what the plots mean to not just only NPHC but to all the organizations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lynnae Williams, president of the National Panhellenic Council and member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority Inc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThank you to NPHC and MGO for never slowing down on the fight for equity and inclusion. Without all of us as a unit coming together, these things would not be here today so I thank you for all the time and tears, and fight and push back,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ariana Galvez, Bradley senior and member of one of the MGOs on campus, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. talks about what MGOs do here for the campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMulticultural Greek Organizations provide a safe space for students of marginalized communities, first-generation students, and students that are navigating an institution that was not built for them. They provide us with a community, a space where we can fully express ourselves, grow, and become leaders,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">BUBBA Vice President Stacey Rose and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. sends a message to the students on campus who worked with Bradley to make the plots a reality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThank yourselves for what you see here today. I want to thank the students, you guys are something else. Looking at this means you guys are doing the work on campus. I&#8217;m proud of you guys, we are all proud of you guys. Know that we are committed and very excited to be doing this.
