The Bradley University Theater Department just concluded its two week run of the play She Kills Monsters. The play was performed six times over two weekends.<\/span><\/p>\n Assistant Prop master Sarah Coughlin was very satisfied with the play especially after having some early speculations.<\/span><\/p>\n Coughlin said, \u201cI think the play ended up really well done. I was worried that the fight scenes would look cheesy but I thought they surprisingly looked realistic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n One of the amazing part about this performance was the costumes<\/a>. \u00a0She Kills Monsters is about a make believe world in the form of Dungeons and Dragons<\/a>. \u00a0Head of the costumes Abby Crock talked about how she felt the acting and costumes.<\/span><\/p>\n Crock said, \u201cThe play was one of the best productions at Bradley I\u2019ve seen. The acting was superb, and the costumes well designed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n One of the amazing parts of this play is that one the six shows there was really never an empty seat in the house. \u00a0Assistant technical director Will McDermith<\/a> talks about the fans that went to see the play.<\/span><\/p>\n He said, \u201cThe play was well received by everyone involved and by a vast majority of people who saw the show. Many nights saw very few if any empty seats.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The play had so much work put into it and just as fast as it started the crew blinked it was over. The crew and actors put so much into it and it is a relief that it is over. Abby Crock talks about the show being over.<\/span><\/p>\n She said, \u201cAs for it being over, I think I speak for the whole cast and crew when I say even though I loved every minute I\u2019m relieved it\u2019s over. So much time, sweat, and tears went into this production. But it was worth it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Once the show is over the current stage has to be taken down to prepare for the next show that is coming up. \u00a0The whole crew including the actors have an event called strike. <\/span><\/p>\n Strike is the event where the whole set that was built off of a base set is brought back to the original base set. \u00a0McDermith talks about the Strike.<\/span><\/p>\n He said, \u201cStrike went very smoothly. The set, including lighting and rigging, was able to be taken down in around 3 and a half hours. This is a credit to each department being as efficient as possible with the crew that they had available.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Now that the strike is done the crew started preparing for what the Hartmann center will hold next. McDermith talked about what the stage will hold next.<\/span><\/p>\n He said,\u201cThe stage is currently being prepped for a Jazz concert that will be performing in the near future\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n The Jazz concert that the theater department is putting on is Eric Peterson<\/a> who is a jazz singer, and is performing with the jazz ensemble. This will start in late November.<\/span><\/p>\n The next play that will be preformed is titled Silent Sky<\/a>. \u00a0The play will begin to be\u00a0<\/span>prepared in the beginning of the new year and will debut the February 28, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
