The Chicago Auto Show\u2019s entire exhibit is held in the McCormick Place complex. Utilizing more than 1 million square feet, the show consists of domestic and imported cars, sports cars, and concept cars. Not only will attendees have the opportunity to view over 1,000 different vehicles, but will be given the chance to attend varies events over the week. One of the shows most prestigious events is the First Look for Charity. The formal event allows guests to enjoy the viewing of the show, before the public arrives. This print story and audio slideshow extra describes the First Look for Charity event and how it is raising money for local Chicago charities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Chicago Auto Show hosts its annual First Look Charity Event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CHICAGO \u2013 This past Friday, the Chicago Auto Show celebrated its annual First Look for Charity event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now in its 25 year, First Look for Charity occurs the evening before the Chicago Auto Show opens for the public.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The philanthropic event was anticipated by the socialites and car buffs alike, allowing its guests to witness the hundreds of new luxury cars and trucks that were unveiled at the Auto Show.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was such an amazing event to attend,\u201d explains Hayley Feichter, Bradley student and intern for the Chicago Auto Show, \u201cNot only did I get to see the new cars of 2017, but the event is for a good cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Being one of Chicago\u2019s most charitable causes, a multitude of events are showcased. Since it\u2019s launch in 1992, First Look for Charity has raised over $42 million for notable Chicago charities such as Special Olympics of Illinois, Boys &amp; Girls Club of Chicago, just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for the dealers to give back to the community,\u201d said Caroline Maddalozzo, social media intern for the Chicago Auto Show.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chicago Auto Show, the event raised 2.61 million dollars this year alone; $203 of each $250 ticket going directly to a charitable donation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Along with the raising money for charity, the night featured food and refreshments from some of Chicago\u2019s restaurants, which laid out over 140,000 samples for guests to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Guests were also encouraged to participate in the First Look for Charitys raffle.
