Beans. Brews. Belonging.

These are all things that you will feel and see while at Kickabrew Coffee Company, located in Kickapoo, IL.

Kickabrew is a newly opened coffee shop in the heart of Kickapoo. The shop was started up and opened by local husband and wife Josh and Katie Barnewolt.

Kickabrew opened up in November 2021 after two years of construction and is located at 9927 US-150, Kickapoo, IL 61528, right next to Fashion Farm Boutique and Barnewolt Chiropractor.

All types of coffees, hot chocolates, and many other drinks you would find in a coffee shop are on the menu. They also serve waffees, which is their type of waffle, beans you can buy, and some clothing items that are custom-made and embroidered along with cups and other trinkets. They also ship their beans across the US for customers in other states.

Kickabrew also roasts every bean they have in house and every roast is named after a streek in Kickapoo. They also have seasonal flavors and introduce new ones every month.

“We wanted to give back to our wonderful community and a new place to get coffee,” Katie stated.

Katie always wanted to own her own coffee shop and when the property when up for sale across from her home, she knew now was her chance.

Katie decided that she also wanted to source all local people for the construction and renovation of the building and she did successfully.

“We are huge advocates for supporting local everything,” Katie stated.

Kickabrew was able to be renovated within a year with help from locals all from the area. They were even able to also source the plants outside from a local nursery.

Kickabrew is a local coffee shop that also likes to give back to the community. Kickabrew hosts giveaways and they also have artists play in the coffee shop.

All of Kickabrew’s employees are also locals to the area who love coffee and meeting new people. Their manager Jazany Schick, is an expert in coffee and has grown up tasting and perfecting the perfect brew.

“I love Kickabrew and their wonderful coffee,” Deacon Tom Mueller said. “I also love being able to walk across the road in the morning and get myself fresh coffee after morning masses!”

Kickabrew is beloved by the community and they get more and more customers every day. Kickabrew loves being able to serve coffee and give back to the people.
