CHICAGO – This past Friday, the Chicago Auto Show celebrated its annual First Look for Charity event.

Now in its 25 year, First Look for Charity occurs the evening before the Chicago Auto Show opens for the public.

The philanthropic event was anticipated by the socialites and car buffs alike, allowing its guests to witness the hundreds of new luxury cars and trucks that were unveiled at the Auto Show.

“It was such an amazing event to attend,” explains Hayley Feichter, Bradley student and intern for the Chicago Auto Show, “Not only did I get to see the new cars of 2017, but the event is for a good cause.”

Being one of Chicago’s most charitable causes, a multitude of events are showcased. Since it’s launch in 1992, First Look for Charity has raised over $42 million for notable Chicago charities such as Special Olympics of Illinois, Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, just to name a few.

“It’s a great opportunity for the dealers to give back to the community,” said Caroline Maddalozzo, social media intern for the Chicago Auto Show.

According to the Chicago Auto Show, the event raised 2.61 million dollars this year alone; $203 of each $250 ticket going directly to a charitable donation.

Along with the raising money for charity, the night featured food and refreshments from some of Chicago’s restaurants, which laid out over 140,000 samples for guests to enjoy.

Guests were also encouraged to participate in the First Look for Charitys raffle. Two attendees were lucky enough to win a 2016 Lincoln MKX or a 2016 Jeep Renegade, compliments of The Lincon Motor Company and Chicagoland Lincoln dealers, Renegade compliments of Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram and Chicagoland Jeep dealers.

“The event was a great opportunity to attend the city’s largest single-day charity events,” Caroline Maddalozzo continued. “If you are given the chance to attend, it is an event I would definitely recommend.”
