Plots Revealed – Showcases NPHC and MGOs

The National Panhellenic Council and the Multicultural Greek Organizations at Bradley University had their plots revealed at Alumni Quad Saturday afternoon.

Bradley University hosted the plot reveal in what was a historic moment for the campus and the organizations represented.

President Standifird talked about the first time the idea of the plots was introduced to him by the NPHCs and MGOs.

“When this idea first came forward I was looking forward to this day specifically for so long and I am so so glad that this actually happened. The National Panhellenic Council and the Multicultural Greek Organizations have played a vital role at Bradley University,” he said in his speech.

“When people visit these plots, it will serve as a reminder of a time when we worked together. And when we work together, we will always run the yard,” he said.

Lynnae Williams, Bradley senior, president of the NPHC council and member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. talks about her perspective on what the plots mean to not just only NPHC but to all the organizations.

“Thank you to NPHC and MGO for never slowing down on the fight for equity and inclusion. Without all of us as a unit coming together, these things would not be here today so I thank you for all the time and tears, and fight and push back,” she said.

Ariana Galvez, Bradley senior and member of one of the MGOs on campus, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. talks about what MGOs do here for the campus.

“Multicultural Greek Organizations provide a safe space for students of marginalized communities, first-generation students, and students that are navigating an institution that was not built for them. They provide us with a community, a space where we can fully express ourselves, grow, and become leaders,” she said.

BUBBA Vice President Stacey Rose and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. sends a message to the students on campus who worked with Bradley to make the plots a reality.

“Thank yourselves for what you see here today. I want to thank the students, you guys are something else. Looking at this means you guys are doing the work on campus. I’m proud of you guys, we are all proud of you guys. You guys gave us (BUBBA) something beautiful to come back this year to,” she said.

President Standifird’s closing remarks reminds the Bradley community about unity and the importance of being together as one.

“I don’t think we can overstate the importance of this moment of history at Bradley University and the importance of it accentuated by the great turn out here…This is not the end of an effort, this is just the beginning…there is still much work to be done. Know that we are committed and very excited to be doing this. Again, thank you and your organizations,” he said.
