Junior Mallory Clark believes that working for Bradley admissions has positively impacted her overall experience at Bradley. She owes a lot of her success, especially in her early college career, to her job.

She is a current student intern for the Bradley University admissions office. Before that, she worked as a student admissions representative (STAR).

In her job, Clark provides tours to prospective students and their families. She also schedules visit days and trains new STARs.

“Being from out of state and having a tough freshman year, this program and job has given me something to always look forward to and be excited about something bigger than myself,” Clark said. “I have made some great friends and acquaintances.”

She also explained that she has obtained many valuable life skills that she will use in both her future career as well as her everyday life.

Clark said, “I have learned real life skills that will prepare me in future jobs.” She continued, “All the skills I am learning now will help me so much as I try to enter my desired career.”

Clark is not the only student whose Bradley experience has been enriched due to on-campus work. Many students are in agreement that working on campus has an abundance of benefits that aid them in both their college experience and likely their future as well.

Senior Kianna Goss is a current employee of the Bradley Fund, where she calls alumni and current parents to update their information as well as ask for contributions towards the university and student scholarships. She is also a team leader.

Goss explained that her job at the Bradley Fund has provided her with many advantages that have helped her as a student and in her future career.

She explained that while reaching out to a variety of alumni and parents, she has received information about job opportunities and career advice.

“This job has helped me as a student because I think my communication skills have improved. There have been times I could easily have a full in-depth conversation with a stranger,” Goss said.

Similarly, junior and Cullom-Davis Library employee Ashley Streitmatter said, “My on-campus job allows me to prioritize being a student first while still supporting myself financially.”

Streitmatter explained that she often has downtime at her job in between helping library patrons locate resources and restocking shelves which she utilizes to work on homework assignments.

In addition, both Goss and Streitmatter agree that their on campus jobs provide a positive and laid back atmosphere.

While Streitmatter uses her free time at the library to focus on her studies, Goss is able to play a game each time she gets a donation as a reward for her hard work.

These three young women as well as many other student workers at Bradley will continue to have improved overall Bradley experiences due to their on-campus work and what it provides for them.
