Mid-Season Updates with Bradley Baseball

The Bradley Baseball team is more than half way done with their regular season. They have played 29 games this season and have a record of 7-2 for conference play. Surprisingly, they have only had four home games played at Dozer Park, and the rest being on the road. The team was supposed to play 9 games at home, but many of them were cancelled due to unusual weather conditions in late March and early April.

Robert Morris, Eureka, McMurry, Iowa and University of Illinois were all schools that have been postponed for a later date in the season.

As the cold weather continues, we sat down and spoke with right handed pitcher Sam Lund about his thoughts on the weather and the season as a whole. “I mean the weather sucks, but we all know there is nothing we can do about it”, he says. “So when a game gets pushed back or moved, we can’t afford to change our mindset or anything. Its just another game. We try to not let the weather affect us. Plus, the other team has to play in it as well, so we can’t blame anything else or have any excuse.” Says Lund.

“I personally don’t think the start of the season should be pushed back any longer.” Says Lund. “I would rather play as many games as possible.”

With 19 games still remaining in the season, the Braves hope the weather will clear up and their play can continue. The Braves look to play Western Illinois at Dozer Park in Peoria on Wednesday April 18th at 6:00pm for their next contest.
