Partying has been a form of art since the times of Ancient Greece. Partying is a true form of expression for a lot of people in society today. People live for the nights and days they get to go out and let loose. Partying has the ability to keep people sane, taking these people who work their 9 to 5 jobs and giving them a space to relax for a few hours. The video depicts two very different party situations and what goes on at an every day party. Avid Californian partier, Indigo said, “I like to meet new people and spend time with my friends because this is the only downtime I get with my nursing major.”

Fellow partygoer, Cameron Maxwell said,”And pretty much with continuous work ethic, you kinda look for some type of way to get away. I think partying is cool.”

From kickbacks to total ragers partying has evolved.  In a lot of ways partying is like baking. If the steps aren’t properly followed the end result could be disastrous. There are many important roles within a party today. The organizers do just that and organize the entirety of the party. They invite all the people, acquire a DJ and find the space to throw the event. The DJ is instrumental to the entire event. The music gets the people moving and into the scene. If the music is whack then the people are not able to vibe to it and the party is like a fish out of water, lifeless. The individuals who find themselves at parties differs greatly from person to person. Dancers are always and forever the life of the party, this is why they always find themselves more towards the middle of whatever area they are in. They drive the entire scene. The DJ caters to their needs throughout the whole night, whatever it takes to keep them moving. Socializers just like the interactions a party can provide. Parties are a great way to meet people you would otherwise never see. These social gatherings can serve as great networking opportunities. They use this opportunity to spark up conversations with different people.  The bystanders at party really have no interest in being there. They stand away from everyone mostly. Bystanders can come off as shy or reserved. In most cases these individuals have found themselves at this shindig because someone has dragged them there.

Today people party in a variety of ways. Kickbacks are more of a gathering. There is music but no dancing. Usually this event is utilized for social interactions among guests. There are dinner parties where people come together to eat and talk. Proper etiquette can play a major role in a party like this but it’s determined by situation. Watch parties are when a program is popular enough to warrant a group of people coming together to view it. The most infamous parties are ragers, when a big mass amount of people who most likely don’t know one another come together for a few hours to dance and interact.

Regardless of what party environment one finds themselves in, always remember the primary objective is to have fun.
