Until the construction finishes in November, though, students and Peoria natives will have to take a detour if they wish to cross the river.<\/p>\n<p>For those coming to campus on the westbound I-74, Google will typically guide you across the Bob Michel bridge before getting to campus. Otherwise you&#8217;ll have to take the University exit, and deal with the intersection of this street and Main. An alternative route would be to get off I-74 at South Main Street in East Peoria, go south for a bit, take the Cedar Street Bridge\u00a0across, and head up to campus the back way. As delays will be likely, students will want to check out this route, and other options.<\/p>\n<p>While the closure will be inconvenient for drivers, it will ultimately be a benefit for everyone that uses the bridge.
