Wardell Stephen Curry has done another miraculous thing. In just his twelfth season in the National Basketball Association, he has surpassed the late great Wilt Chamberlain for most points all time for the Golden State Warriors on April 12th. After this crazy accomplishment, does he deserve the title of the greatest Golden State Warrior of all time?

All Curry needed was 19 points to surpass Wilt Chamberlain with most points in Warrior history. Wilt finished with an astonishing 17,783 points as a part of the Warriors organization. This record was held for over 50 years. With 1:40 remaining in the first quarter, Curry surpassed Wilt with a driving layup. He was able to do this in the first quarter. That was not the only thing he was able to do that night against the Denver Nuggets, he was able to lead the Warriors to a win while also finishing with 53 points. With that record broken, he adds that to his collection of records he currently holds in Warriors history. He currently leads the Warriors in “all time assists, 3 pointers, turnovers, and free throw percentage, and is in the top three in games played, minutes and steals” (Quinn, 2021).

With all of this, these accomplishments that are being mentioned are not even all of the crazy things he has done in his career. He has been to five straight NBA finals winning 3 of them, with all of them being with the Warriors. He is a seven time NBA all star. He is one of the most influential basketball players in history. Plus, he is arguably one of the most influential athletes of all time, period. With his signature three point shot, he has influenced this current generation. Nowadays, everyone now wants to shoot threes, and from a long distance too. With players like him, Damian Lillard, and Trae Young, more and more players will most likely need to be able to shoot from a long distance behind the three point line for years to come. He was able to lead the Golden State Warriors to the best record in NBA history with 73 wins and nine losses. They were able to break this record in the 2015 – 2016 season surpassing the original record of 72 wins and ten losses set by the Chicago Bulls in the 1995 – 1996 season.

After surpassing Wilt Chamberlain a couple nights ago, it is very obvious that Stephen Curry is the greatest Warrior of all time. “As it stands, there really isn’t a Warrior – current or past – that could compete with Curry as the greatest Warrior in team history. In terms of popularity, perhaps the only player to come close to Curry in recent years was Monta Ellis” (Castillo, 2020). But other than that, Curry has solidified his status as the greatest Warrior of all time. He will most likely hold more records for the Warriors and will most definitely become a hall of famer when it is all said and done.
