Sharon Murphy earned her bachelor's degree from Marquette University, and her master's and doctorate from the University of Iowa. She has worked as newspaper reporter, public relations director and magazine editor, and has been at Bradley since 1994. She teaches and advises majors in the journalism major. Her research and publication focuses mainly on international and intercultural issues, including the roles and images of minorities and women in journalism and media history.
