Speech Team scholarships are broken down as follows:
A. Account #41F*
- divided among many members of the team. No individual receives more than $2,000, thus all are offered partial assistance on a talent basis.
- requirements: 1) competition in at least 3 tournaments per semester 2) assistance in running high school and college tournaments hosted by Bradley 3) compete at all nationals for which the student has qualified
B. HULT Forensics Scholarship*
- 4 recipients at $1,200 each
- requirement at forensics participation
C. Reynolds Scholarship*
- there is one forensics recipient and one theatre recipient
- our recipient fills only the forensics position and receives $550
D. Norton/Vanarsdale Scholarship*
- requirements: LAS major and forensics participation
- amount: $3,400 divided as desired
E. Janssen Scholarships
- contest held in conjunction with our high school tournament. Winner receives an $8,000 scholarship to be used for the freshman year; second place receives $7,000, and third place receives $5,000.
*Each recipient mush maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

The Department of Communication chooses one student each spring to receive this scholarship for the following academic year. (The Departments of Art, Music, and Theatre do the same.)
Morris Jaffee Endowed Scholarship
College of Communications and Fine Arts major. Upper class. Financial need.
National Society of Arts and Letters Annual Scholarship
Speech. Speech/Theatre Teaching or member of the Speech Team (as well as Art, Music, Theatre majors and Creative Writing minors.). Minimum overall GPA 2.5. Financial need.
These scholarship recipients are nominated by the departments. Students do not make application.

These scholarship recipients are selected (without application being made) according to the scholarship agreement which states taht the student be enrolled full-time in the appropriate major, as well as demonstrate financial need. A pool of students with financial need is determined and from those, the recipients are selected according to level of financial need and GPA. (The level of financial need is determined from the FAFSA which students need to submit by the March 1st deadline.)
